DRY CLEAN YOUR UNIFORM !!

Now that the Fall competitive season is over it is time to get uniforms cleaned before putting them away for the winter. A few reminders:

  • Take the collar liner out of the jacket and hand or machine wash.

  • Remove sash and just take the pants and jacket to be professionally dry cleaned. The sash and vest are hand washed over the Summer, sequins can't be dry cleaned. Do make sure that sash and vest are both dry before storing away.

  • Make sure that the shako is also dry before closing it up in its box.

In the past SAMBA has used Crystal Cleaners on Cornell Rd. for the year end uniform cleaning and some of us have taken uniforms there on an individual basis. Crystal Cleaners has now changed ownership and prices have risen quite a bit. You may need to check around. If any of you has or runs across a dry cleaner that you especially like, please let us know. We'll be shopping around too.  (See Suggested Cleaners below.)

If you have any questions, please contact Beth Johnson at 503-646-1520 or joh12740@gte.net

Suggested Cleaners:

Julie Lueker & Stephanie Sherman (prices are from 2003-2004 season):

I found a cleaners that charges $1.75 a piece- I can clean the entire uniform for $3.50. They do a great job. The only requirement is you prepay. The cleaners is located in the same lot as the old Home Club, on Canyon Rd. They're right by Tile for Less.

The address: Continental Cleaners 11535 SW Canyon Rd Beaverton 503-520-8845

Things usually take 1-2 days to be cleaned after drop-off.
